Merry Christmas

A Picture of my sister's cat named Morris.  Sometimes we say he should have been named Garfield.  Can you see the resemblance?
A Picture of me in the shirt my sister gave me for Christmas.
Stockings anyone?
The vase my sister gave my mom for christmas.  Isn't  it beautiful.

I know christmas is still over a week away.  We go visit relatives in Texas for christmas, so we celebrated it early.  I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Exercise ?

I know it's something most of us try to avoid, but know we shouldn't.  Anyway I just got a wii fit yesterday.  It makes exercising fun, there are some games on it and various other neat stuff.  I hope everyone is doing well. :)

"My Kids"

This first one is really just a cat that hangs around and we feed from time to time.    I've started to call her smoky, isn't she cute.
Dakota and Pepper on the diving board, getting along which they do most of the time.  But you know how "siblings" can be.  They love being on the diving board and they love the pool.  However, they never jump of the diving board into the pool :)
Dakota resting in his dog house, like he likes to do often.  However, getting a photo of it was tough because he usually gets up the minute you come outside.
Pepper chasing birds in the back yard.
My kids are doing well over all.  Poor pepper has trouble getting around sometimes because of arthritis (not bad for being 12 yrs old).  I hope you enjoyed these pics, hopefully it won't be so long between post next time.  God Bless :)

Smile Award

Carrie was nice and gave me this award.  As a recipient I am to choose 5 people to give this award to in return.  To view the rules go to Carrie's blog.
And the winners are....
Kisti: A dear friend from college.  She was my orientation leader.  She is always encouraging me.  She has adopted a Korean girl for the school year; Kisti also has a 2 year old daughter.  What an inspiration!
John Cooper:  Another college friend, he almost always had smile on his face.  He is now a proud dad of a baby boy born late last month.
Daesha:  Yet another friend from LCU.  She is one of the first people I remember coming in contact with at LCU.  She helped me a great deal my first year.
Tara: Another friend from LCU, she is always smiling.  I can hardly recall a time when she didn't have a smile.  She is now a proud mom of a baby boy.
Becke:  A friend from church, she is such a sweetheart.  She has a nice smile and usually has something encouraging to say.
It was hard to pick just 5 people there are so many others I could give this award to.  I hope this brightens your day.  God Bless :)

Father's Day and other pics

My Dad loves Indiana Jones, so my sister and I couldn't resist getting him these gifts for father's day.  The card plays the theme, which he has played a lot!  The next pic is of my sister and me, we just got our hair cut.  The last is a sunset pic my dad took that I thought looked really neat.

Father's Day Mayhem

We celebrated Father's day yesterday with my Dad.  We went to a movie and watched a movie at home as well, it was fun.  Today as my sister was headed back to work at camp, they had an accident, but God was looking out for them.  Everyone was ok overall  a couple were injured (2 of the girls required a hospital trip, but were not admitted), but the paramedics arrived soon after the accident.   I got the phone call from my sister while I was helping in sunday school.  I helped the kids make paper weights with pictures they colored that said "Thank God, for my Dad".    Happy Father's Day!!!

God Works in Mysterious Ways!!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while.  Work has kept me really busy.  As some of you know I work nights, but I have to have classes during the day for work from time to time.  Anyway the flipping between day and night takes a toll on my sleeping patterns.  I have been pretty tired lately.  I was scheduled tomorrow and friday for long day classes.  I get a call from work today.  Apparently there was a glitch in the system that reserves classroom space,  so they had to cancel the class for now because they had no where for us to meet.  Hallelujah!  So now I am working friday and sat night.  Which is good because I need to more experience working as a nurse and I can catch up on my sleep.  Praise God!!  Not much else going on except my birthday is next week:)  My sister is going to work at camp again this summer, she's looking forward to that.  I hope everyone is doing well!!:)

Good News at last

My new car came in and I picked it up last friday.  My Dad took pics on Saturday and put them on the web, there is a link on the side under links .  I am finally starting to get the hang of my new job, I think?!?  This week and next its all shifts on the floor and all nights no flipping back to days for classes.  I'm glad of that because I needed a break, I still have several classes left but there not till the end of this month beginning of next.  TBQ state finals was this Saturday, our last meet for this season.  Next season I will be the leader for my church, I am both excited and nervous.  I hope all is going well for everyone.

Happy Easter!!

I hope everyone had a great Easter.  This is a pic of the new dress I got  for Easter.  It took me a while to find it.  The dress fits me.  Today in the sunday school I help out in for preschool we were talking about the true story of Easter.  One of the kids kept saying Jesus is alive.  He was so cute!

Updates

The last week and a half have been busy.    Last saturday I went to a friends wedding.   I am finally getting more time working as a nurse, instead of going to tons of classes.  This week I have 3 shifts, I have already done 2 of them, tonight is my last shift for this week.  Tuesday  morning I had to take my dog to the vet, he has an eye infection, but seems to be doing better now.  Wed I had a dentist appt, just  routine cleaning.  Yesterday, I went with my Dad to the honda dealer to test drive a car.  That was fun!  Anyway that's pretty much the last week and a half in a nut shell.  I hope everyone is having a great week:^)

Saying Good Bye

Tonight we had a going away party for our children's pastor at church. He has been our children's pastor for the past 6 yrs. I am going to miss him and his family. But God knows what he's doing. I was also thinking how much easier it is to keep in touch than it was several years ago. Isn't technology great? Anyway I know they will be missed and it's a big change for our church.

First Shift as an RN

Last night was the first time I was on the floor.  It was the first time I have done an all night shift,  I got off about 730am.  I managed to stay awake the whole time:^)  Everyone is really nice there,  it was getting acquainted to the floor and I pretty much shadowed another nurse.   My next shift is this Saturday.  However, I have class tomorrow morning at 9.  I will be switching back and forth between nights on the floor and days for classes for the next couple of months.  I like my job so far, but the responsibility of the job still overwhelms me.  I hope to post pictures from the last couple of weeks sometime this week.

Have a Great Leap Day!!!

It's hard to believe this week is almost over.  I spent this week at work for a few days and I was off a couple of days.  I spent most of Wed running errands and some of Thurs as well.   This Sunday I start working with patients for my first 12 hour shift.  February is almost over, so Happy Leap Day to everyone!!

It's finally the weekend!

I finished the first week of my new job. Everyone is really nice, it just gets long sitting in classes all day. My first shift is on March 2nd, I am working nights by the way. However all of the classes are during the day. They're really careful not to schedule us the night before or same day as a class. I am glad to have this weekend off. I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Orientation Continues

The last two days have been much of the same stuff.   However, today we actually got to tour the hospital areas and meet with our managers/educators.  And I finally received an updated schedule for the GAP program(helping new graduate nurses transition from student to RN)!!!  I want to thank everyone who viewed and posted  on my new blog.  It's good to hear from everyone.

First Day

Today was the first day of my new job.  It was a bunch of orientation stuff, kind of boring but the people were really nice.  Tomorrow orientation continues, there are so many people that are going that we are going to a university.  Hopefully I will get my schedule tomorrow.  All in all the first day went well.

Renaissance Festival

Today I went to the Renaissance Festival.  It was a blast until after the joust, when my mom twisted her ankle coming down from the bleachers.  We left early, but they gave us tickets for another time.  So this year we will go to the festival twice, so some good came out of the situation.  I am looking forward to coming back in a few weeks.  I will post pics from today when I get a chance.

January 2008 Happenings

The pics above are of my family and my Aunt Kathryn.  The pics were taken when my aunt came to visit.  The graduation pic is of my sister, my dad, and me.  The rest of January was spent studying for the NCLEX which I took on the 30th of January.  I was so relieved and excited when I found out the next day that I had passed the NCLEX.  I had my nursing license.  And no more studying!!

Whirlwind

The end of last year was a flurry of activity.  My sister did 120 hours for an internship at Fox studios during the last part of october and the month of November.  I did an internship at a local hospital just before thanksgiving and ended the weekend before my sister's graduation from LCU.  About a week after her graduation I had my nursing graduation.  Then a couple weeks after that we went to my grandpa's house for Christmas and came home new year eve.

Above are some pictures of the Honduras trip.  I took a health class thru  Mercy Ships.  The first  picture is of me on my sightseeing part of the trip. The second picture is of me and my classmates Lynn, Hannah, and Kate.

Quick update

I will post pictures as soon as I figure out how.   This past December I just finished 2 years of nursing school.  After taking boards last month I am official an RN.  I start my first nursing job next week. I went to Honduras for 2 weeks last summer with Mercy Ships.  Happy Valentines day everyone!!
